Nature has always been my sanctuary, and photography gives me a creative way to savor it.

My photography allows me to experience the beauty of nature and the connection with something greater than us. Nothing centers me better than spending some time away from man-made sounds and sights and reconnecting with nature. Photography has always been one of my great loves. It’s one of my favorite creative outlets and has been a huge part of my mindfulness practice. When I am focused on the angle of the Milky Way, the gills of a mushroom, wave sets on the ocean or the behaviors of a grizzly bear, that consumes all my attention. The rest of the world fades away.

While nature is my primary muse, I enjoy expanding my photography, experimenting with different genres. I enjoy blending manmade and natural elements creatively.

I’m a Northern California native, but I have lived in several parts of the US. While the variety of landscapes in California still have a strong hold on my heart, my wanderlust is strong.

Photography has interested me for as long as I can remember. When given the chance at Campfire and Girl Scout camps as a kid, I always opted for photography classes. I still have my dad’s old Minolta SRT-201, my gateway camera.

My current camera is the Sony A7R V.

I am mother to a teenager and licensed as a registered nurse. I am privileged to travel in an RV full time with my wife, Alissa, and our dog, Emma. This gives me countless opportunities to break out my camera.

I also have a YouTube channel and associated website, wanderingswitchback.com, which provide outdoor education and some of my earlier photography content. You can find the stories behind some of my earlier photos on my blog on that site.

If you are interested in ordering any prints, please send me a message.
